Oats and Berries Smoothie Bowl


Apple and banana provide delicious sweetness while the spinach, walnuts and chia seeds in this bowl are rich in healthy Omega-3 fats. Plant-based fats are wonderful if eaten in moderation — keep this a low-fat, energy burst breakfast with only a light sprinkling of coconut and seeds. Turmeric provides added anti-inflammatory benefits and sprouts are concentrated doses of excellent nutrients.


  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 large Figi apple
  • 2 cups frozen spinach
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp soaked chia seeds
  • handfull of sprouts, homegrown or store bought

Add all items to a blender and pulse a few times to start, then blend until smooth.
Spoon into a bowl and add toppings.

Toppings (clockwise from bottom):

  • brazil nut
  • shredded coconut
  • walnuts
  • buckwheat groats
  • hemp hearts
  • sunflower seeds
  • dried cranberries
  • rolled oats

Store your dried goods in mason jars for easy pouring onto your breakfast bowls in the morning.
